The December meeting took place on the 17th and was attended by 22 members. In addition to the usual tea/coffee/biscuits there was a variety of extra food provided by members in the way of biscuits/mince pies/stollen and Malcolm's excellent homemade shortbread - thanks to all who brought them. The DC and DCC layouts were set up and were well used:
Also Heworth Sidings was setup and cork laying and track planning continued. It is hoped to have a train running on part at the next meeting.
On a more technical note, Dave had brought his test board with the crossing for the proposed new DCC scenic boards, and discussions took place about the automatic signal operations needed to avoid collisions at the crossing. This would be using the excellent CML Electronics SIGM20 signal controller plus a variety of relays etc (I'm still not totally convinced, but I learnt a lot!)
Next meeting September 24th (DCC September 10th)
