There are variations with this to avoid clashing with bank holidays - see Diary for dates of meetings.

The main purpose of our meetings is to run model trains and the formal (business) part of our meetings is restricted to a short period of time whilst we are all digesting our packed lunches.

Members normally start arriving between 09:30 and 10:00, and having ensured that the kettle is on, we commence setting up a running layout.  Generally we set up two layouts on which we can run analogue (DC) trains or Digital Command Control (DCC).

Members are encouraged to bring trains to run (from any part of the world, so long as it is N gauge), Operation of the layout is quite simple, and members are always on hand to explain how it is done.  Lunch is taken at about 12 noon, (most members bring a packed lunch), and is followed by a short business meeting, where reports are taken from the Area Secretary, the Treasurer, the Events Manager and the Editor of “MagNnet”, followed by Any Other Business.

Then it’s back to running trains until we start to clear away the layouts at about 15:30.

Annual Subscriptions are £10.00; and there is a £5.00 meeting fee each month.

The AGM of the group is normally held as part of the February meeting.
